Concrete is porous just like any stone. Clean with mild soap and water. Treated like all stone products, avoid leaving high acid foods on the surface. A great motto is clean as you go! Concrete can be treated once every month or two with Original Beeswax to keep the surface looking beautiful.

Select from our 30+ signature colors! All of our products are made using integral color. This means the color runs throughout the product not just on the surface.
The nature of concrete is somewhat unpredictable and is one of the attractive properties as every piece is unique. That being said we limit as many variables as possible in the casting process allowing us to achieve very close to the sample colors.

Concrete is a chemical reaction of portland cement and water creating a stone product. It is similar to any stone product and needs to be cared for in the same way. It is stain and scratch resistant and should be treated like any high end finish in your home; wood; granite; marble.
Our concrete is high performance. It is not your typical driveway or foundation wall concrete. It has a lower water content which achieves a much higher strength. This is mixed with the combination of specialized additives to increase flexural strength and decrease porosity. Also in our mix, most products have glass fibers which give some structural strength and crack resistance. Another step uses fine particles for the binding material and can create a tighter matrix of concrete. Consideration is taken into account for each piece and/or application for the intended use and that will dictate different mix designs. Everything is cast in a temperature controlled environment which provides consitant high quality product.
Generally if steps are taken to care for your product, like any other high end finish in your home, it will last a lifetime. Review our care and warranty documents for further information.
In regards to countertops, concrete tops are similar or lighter than granite tops. So most kitchen cabinets are designed to carry that type of weight.
Because we utilize fiber reinforced concrete, traditional steel rebar is not needed which further decreases weight of the concrete products and allows us to cast much thinner pieces.
We use different sealers for different applications. There are two main types of sealers: penetrative/reactive and topical. The sealers we use are used by professionals all over the world. Our sealing process is done in a temperature controlled environment giving the best performance possible.
No matter what sealer is used, they both provide stain and scratch resistance (similar to any natural stone product like granite). Proper care for your product and not using abrasive cleaners is key!
Reactive Sealers:
Pros
- Real feel of concrete
- Food safe
- Good stain resistance and scratch resistance; depending on the density of the concrete.
- Easier to reseal
- Reacts with the concrete matrix and densifies the surface
Cons
- Some darkening from water but dissipates soon afterwards
- Not as reflective as some topical sealers
Topical:
Pros
- Good stain resistance and abrasion resistance
- Food Safe
- Water will bead off of surface easier
- Can achieve a very nice matte finish
Cons
- Creating a layer over top of concrete
- To reseal, the entire piece will need to be stripped
- If the sealer is cut into can comprise the seal
